Katherine Marie Zust, 88, beloved mother and grandmother was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on November 30, 2017. She was born in Winchester, Tennessee on March 6, 1929 to Jesse and Lillian Laws.

Katherine lived in 5 countries; Scotland, England, Germany, Japan and the Great U.S.A. while her husband served in the U.S. Air Force. She was on staff at Peninsula Hospital in Ormond Beach as Director of Volunteers, Communications and as a patient advocate. Katherine also taught charm school in Misawa, Japan and served as a Preschool Director. She loved traveling and was always ready to go or even move to new places. Katherine enjoyed writing poetry for her family and church, painting beautiful landscapes, creating ceramics that she loved to share, and enjoyed being at church worshipping Our Lord.

Katherine was predeceased by her husband of 54 wonderful years of marriage, John R. “Jack” Zust, two brothers Paul and Jesse Laws, and her sisters, Ruby Brady and Betty Jones. Mother leaves behind her cherished sons, Michael (Rosemary) Yates, Steven P. Zust, John R. (Sheryl) Zust, her daughter Lynda Zust (Wayne) Williams, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and her precious dogs, Toby and Pixie. She truly loved all her children and said so in her final days.

A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate Katherine’s life will be held on Friday, December 8, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona with Pastor Joshua Peoples officiating. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service. Those who wish may also share condolences and memories through this online guestbook.
