Robert (Bob) Elliott Davenport
Our hero, Bob Davenport, left his spirit and unconditional love within our hearts when he unexpectedly and peacefully left our lives on January 8, 2018. His gracious presence will be missed by his wife of 34 years – Christine; his children – Eirin (Anthony), Jessica (Bradford), Elizabeth and Elliott (Hannah); his grandchildren – Madeline, Sebastian, Ethan, Alexander and Marigold; and his sister Janet (Jeff).
A fourth generation Floridian, Bob was born in Miami in 1950, graduated from high school in Jacksonville and received his B.S. and M.S. from Florida State University. GO NOLES!! He dedicated his professional career to working on behalf of people with disabilities with the State of Florida and Votran. Bob had a great appreciation of Florida’s history, culture and nature. He loved the beauty of the beach, the challenge of the surf and the rhythm of the waves. He was a voracious reader and had a brilliant sense of humor. Our hearts are broken but his unwavering commitment to our family will always anchor our devotion to each other.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W. Granada Blvd., on January 20, 2018. Bob’s family will welcome friends at 10:00 am and the celebration will begin at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in honor of Bob to Jay’s Hope Fund c/o Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation, 150 Magnolia Avenue, Daytona Beach 32114.
