Richard Todd Watson, 81, passed away on Dec. 9, 2017. He was a resident of Ormond Beach, Florida for nine months but was formerly a long-time resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He was a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and a retired District 11 Payroll Technician. Richard was born on Sept. 22, 1936, to Carl Richard Watson and Thelma (Todd) Watson in Logansport, Indiana. He married the late Judy Cowan in Leads, South Dakota on Dec. 26, 1964, and the couple spent 52 incredible years of marriage together raising their two sons. Richard had a love for the outdoors. If he had a fishing pole in his hand and some bait, he was set! He also enjoyed watching sports. He wouldn’t miss a game for his beloved Colorado Rockies or Denver Broncos. He even enjoyed watching the local high school basketball teams in Colorado. Richard attended Logansport High School and graduated from Regis College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He served in the United States Air Force for 26 years. He was a member of Rock of Ages Lutheran Church and served faithfully there for more than 40 years.

He is survived by his sons, Karl Richard Watson, Edward Charles Watson; his grandchildren, Audrea Leigh Cook, Adam Lane Branham, Derek Scott Watson, Alyssa Marie Evans, Kari Rae Watson; and his great-granddaughter, Autumn Marie Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Richard Watson and Thelma Todd Watson; and his wife, Judy Lorraine Watson.

A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at Shrine of Remembrance. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 15, 2017, at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, located at 120 N 31st Street in Colorado Springs. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance. Memorials in Richard Watson’s name may be made to the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 120 N 31st Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.
