Mary Jane McBride passed away in her sleep at the age of 84 on February 12, 2018. She was born July 18, 1933 to Madeline and Joseph Kenny in Brooklyn and was raised in Forest Hills, NY along with her two brothers, Joseph, Jr. and William. She graduated from St. Jean the Baptist High School in 1951 and from Hunter College in 1955, where she earned a degree in Psychology. Mary Jane married Robert C. Lehning in June, 1959 and went on to raise three sons with Bob on Long Island, living in Farmingville, NY. In addition to being a devoted mother and wife, Mary Jane was a dedicated elementary school teacher in the Sachem School District until her retirement in the early 1990's. Mary Jane also served as an active board member on the Teachers Federal Credit Union throughout the 1980's. She and Bob moved to Ormond Beach, FL in 1992 to enjoy their retirement years together but was struck by tragedy when Bob suddenly passed away in January, 1994. Fortunately, she met another special person and married Kenneth McBride in the Spring of 1998. Together they enjoyed many happy years living in Plantation Bay and spending time with friends from Long Island that moved into Plantation Bay and the many new friends they made during their 19 years of marriage. Mary Jane is survived by her three sons and their wives, Bob & Lisa Lehning, Joe & Carol Lehning and John & Heide Lehning, her step-children and their spouses, Michael & Lori McBride, Donna & Al Keim, Christine & Danny Ludecker, and Vicki McBride, and her 15 grandchildren. Mary Jane's Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary Church, 89 St. Mary's Place, Bunnell, FL 32110. All are welcome to come and celebrate Mary Jane's life with her family.
