Larry Wayne Strubell, 64, of South Daytona, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 16,2018.

He was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1953 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Harvey and Helen Heyer Strubell, Sr. He is preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Sue Strubell, a brother Jeffrey Strubell, and his “Guardian Angel” nephew Joshua J. Strubell.

Larry moved to Daytona Beach with his family in 1961. He attended Mainland Senior High School and worked in commercial sanitation for many years.

He enjoyed the beach, bowling, spending time with his grandchildren, and listening to local baseball games on his radio. He was a die-hard Florida Gator fan and of the Oakland Raiders. He was a collector of many interesting things including rare currency, stamps, and hats. He was a funny guy with contagious charisma and a big heart. Well-liked by many people in his local community, he will truly be missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Deborah Strubell; daughter, Heather (Charles Sullivan) Strubell; brothers Chris, Tim, John, and Harvey Strubell; sister, Diane Chaffin; two grandchildren Danica and Zachary Sullivan; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb 27 at 11 a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, with the Rev. Mark Spivey officiating. Burial will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 5-7 p.m., also at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange.
