Gerald John Davies of Port Orange, Florida, passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by his wife and family on December 12, 2017. He was 80 years old.

Gerald ("Gerry") was born on May 20, 1937 to Kathleen and Benjamin Henry Davies in Cardiff, Wales. He graduated from Roath Park Secondary School in 1953 and went on to study electronics at Llandaff Technical College. Gerry served in Her Majesty’s Royal Navy Reserves and his next service was as Chief Electrical Officer for Caltex Corporation Merchant Navy. Gerry moved to the United States with his family in 1967 where he began a long career with Xerox Corporation in Rochester, New York. He also received a degree in Management from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1975. Gerry transferred to the Xerox location in Oklahoma City later and received his Masters Degree from Oklahoma City University in 1984. He retired in 1998 from Xerox. Gerry moved to Port Orange, FL. in 2002, where he married his wife, Donna, on October 11, 2002.

As a young child, Gerry lived through World War II and witnessed bombings on his own street in Cardiff. During this time, he would listen to the radio nightly and hear Winston Churchill’s comforting words. Those memorable speeches impacted his life over the years. One of Gerry's favorite Winston Churchill quotes was,  “Never, never, never give up!”

Gerry had many hobbies and interests, including photography, listening to classical music and opera, woodworking, electronics and computers.
He also loved dogs and spent much time spoiling his two yorkies, Roxie and Gwennie.
